1. Self Made Rolls Royce Phantom
A 24-years-old car mechanic didn’t have a big bag of cash to buy himself a Rolls-Royce Phantom, so he decided to build a homemade replica. Ruslan Mukanov from Shakhtinsk town, Kazakhstan created the replica out of an old Mercedes. Working in his garage it took him five months and roughly $3,000 to complete it.
2. Home Made Batman Vehicle (aka Batpod)
The 1:1 replica Batpod took several months to complete, including 2 months of research and over 1,000 hours of intense labor. The engine is a whopping 650cc, which features nitrous injection boost and water cooling.In case you’re wondering this custom made Batpod can be ridden, and although it’s not street legal, it has been tested in a controlled environment. As you can see by the finished product, it looks pretty damn close to the real deal. If you’re interested in the raffle to win one, it began on May 22nd, 2010. They are selling 5000 raffle tickets at $20 a pop and the motorcycle will be raffled off officially at the end of July.
3. Self Made Hummer
Meet a Hummer car clone.It can’t be called full replica as it is more likely a Russian approach for the Big Agressive Car that can be used to climb mountains, to sow and plough thru the fields, to clean snow and mud and even to… drive underwater.
“I have only one oxygen mask that can be used while you are driving by the bottom of the lake/river. Once we were crossing some lake and the car got stuck in the bottom mud. My passenger didn’t have a mask so he had to swim out to the surface to get some air and get back down to me to help releasing it.”, says the owner.
And yes, it can drive through the fire too!.
4. Home Made Porsche 911 GT3 RS
What does a Porsche 911 GT3 RS-loving engineer do when they can’t afford one? Build a custom version at home of course. Though not very practical or street legal, it’s still definitely a conversation piece nonetheless.
5. Home Made Lamborghini Built in 10 Years
This is the story of Ken Imhoff, a Wisconsin man who, after falling in love with the Lamborghini Countach in the classic movie Cannonball Run, followed his dream by building his very own Lamborghini in his basement.
The amazing build took place over the course of ten years and was completed and dragged out of the subterranean depths.
6. Home Made Batman Vehicle. (aka Tumbler)
Bob Dullam built a complete replica of the Batman vehicle (aka Tumbler) in his garage and along with it a Batman suit, and it cost him just $50k – $70k.
Even more impressive is the fact that Dullam, who makes specialty costumes, props, and statues for a living, created the Tumbler without the use of blueprints as the only references he had were photos of the car that he downloaded from the internet.
7. Homemade McLaren F1 Replica
A Polish man is looking to out-do that effort with his own version of the McLaren F1.This replica project still under development. Up until now, the Polish man has created a tube frame chassis outfitted with a fibreglass body that mimics the shape of the McLaren F1 while power comes from a BMW V12 engine of unknown origins.
