How To Prepare Kathal Ki Biryani:
Ingredients:
2 Cups Rice
2 Cups Chopped Raw Jackfruit
4 Tomatoes, Chopped finely
3 Onions, Sliced
Whole Garam Masala
Oil for frying
1tsp Ginger Paste
1tsp Garlic Paste
1tsp Turmeric Powder
2tbsp Chili Powder
1tbsp Garam Masala powder
2 big spoons of Curds / Yoghurt
2tbsp Butter
Few sprigs of Mint, Chopped
Salt to taste
Method:
* Soak rice for half an hour. Parboil Rice along with the whole garam masala and sieve.
* Boil Jackfruit with water and salt for 10 minutes.
* Deep fry the boiled jackfruit pieces.
* Heat a tsp of Oil in a kadai and add Onions. Sauté until they turn brown.
* Add Ginger – Garlic paste and stir. Add Tomatoes, Turmeric – Chili powder, Garam Masala and Salt. Stir fry until the moisture evaporates.
* Add the deep fried Jackfruit and Curds. Mix well and cook for a minute or two on low flame.
* In a baking dish put a layer of Jackfruit mixture and then Rice alternatively. On the top layer add Butter and sprinkle some Garam Masala and garnish with Mint leaves.
* Seal the dish with Aluminum foil and cook in pre-heated oven for 15 minutes.
* Serve hot with Raitha.
